PetSmart Appointment Booking Site

As a member of the UX team at PetSmart, I led research and redesign of PetSmart’s Appointment Booking flow for Grooming.

PetSmart Native Mobile Shopping

As manager of PetSmart’s UX/UI team, I worked closely with Product Owners, iOS and Android developers to lead a team of three designers to design an MVP experience of shopping on PetSmart’s app.

PetSmart Product Detail Page
Desktop & Mobile

Following user feedback and taking a mobile-first approach I took lead on redesigning the Product Detail Page on PetSmart.com.

Internal facing designs

While the projects above only showcase customer-facing/external work, I have also worked on an array of internal projects that (due to confidentiality agreements) cannot be displayed online.

These include: A patient portal for healthcare experiences, Associate-facing appointment booking interface, and Internal products for AWS Supply Chain.

My process

  1. User Testing

Prior to starting a project, I ideally utilize a combination of usability testing, user feedback, analytics & market research to arrive at a solution that best suits the target user. I have experience writing usability testing scripts, moderating studies, compiling & analyzing user feedback and presenting findings to business partners.

2. Wire framing to interface designs

Business Goals & Requirements

After gathering user feedback & doing relevant market research I begin to synthesize those findings with the business objectives that are handed off by a product owner. This ensures that the business goals will be met while maintaining an ideal experience for the user.

Wire-framing

Low fidelity wire-frames are ideal to quickly iterate on initial ideas and present overall flows and concepts to business partners and developers. Keeping the visual design to a minimum helps focus the discussion on the user flows and high level aspects of the experience.

User Interface

Once wire-frames has been approved I move on to the interface design itself. Taking into account best practices and accessibility guidelines, I do my best to produce clean, functional and aesthetically pleasing interfaces for the digital experience.

3. Prototyping

I am fluent in Adobe XD and use this tool to create prototypes that are seamless and extremely close to real web and app experiences. I have used prototypes both to conduct usability studies and get feedback from business partners.

4. Iteration is key

After initial designs are produced and developed, it is important to have proper channels for users to provide feedback so that UX & Product teams can effectively iterate on the designs. In my experience, many projects are released as MVP (minimum viable product) and need fast follows to ensure that the time it takes to release the experience is balanced with business goals.
